A lot of flack!!

So, it's been a month since I've updated.  Yes, there is lots to talk about and my intent WAS to get updated this week... but let's discuss what was found this morning.

5:50 AM- Cris, the computer is shattered.

What do you mean the computer is shattered?

The damn cat jumped up to the window, knocked the radio (1980's boombox) off the shelf onto the laptop and now the power doesn't even come on.  Or else it was a ghost... it doesn't matter, the computer is busted.

Seriously, what do you want me to do about it right now?

I'm just pissed, I'm telling you about it.

FINE, but it's 5:50 in the morning.  What makes you think I'm going to care about that right now?

So, I proceed to the shower (groggy and crabby because I've been woken up) and head downstairs.  Lo-and behold... the top of the laptop has a crack in it, when you open the screen it's shattered and the power button is busted and doesn't work.

So, what does that mean for the people giving me flack?!!?  I have no laptop at home to update with the latest and greatest.  So, here is a quick pictureless update with the happenings of the last month!

Craziness in our household trying to get the family ready for our trip.  The girls spent a week with the grandparents in Chicago.  A bit of a hiccup as dad had unexpected surgery and they had to do some shuffling around.  I do have some pictures that I'll be able to post.

Marc and I spent the first week in March in Mexico!  It was beautiful.  Mid-70's, sunny and very windy during the day, and cool in the evening (sweatshirts and capris).  Lots of pictures to post.

After arriving home, PURE exhaustion, hence no computer time in the evenings which means no update to the blog with pictures.  I got sick this past weekend, and was planning on putzing either tonight or tomorrow night... but that isn't going to happen.

So now what?!?!  We go buy another laptop, get everything installed and proceed from there.

And what is the blessing in all of this?  And yes, I'm being very serious there is a blessing in this unexpected issue.  I knew that I was bringing both my camera and my laptop to Mexico with us so that we could communicate as cell service would be non-existant and expensive.  The week before our trip... I spent an entire evening downloading and backing up ALL of our pictures from the past year onto CD's.  Just in case something happened to my laptop while in Mexico.  Well, nothing happened... but less than three weeks later, there would have been LOTS of tears this morning and pure panic as I would have lost all our pictures and/or had to spend lots of money to have them recovered from a techy person.

Back up your photos, friend.  Back them up!

Will update as soon as I can with pictures!
